I’d like to start by saying congratulations on taking the first step in seeking support in working through the life, personal, or relationship challenge you or a loved one are faced with. I understand how daunting starting therapy can be, for a multitude of reasons and this is normal. Being vulnerable is scary. After all, it has the power to change your life.
The truth is, we all need help at times with finding creative solutions to personal issues. Participating in the therapeutic process has the potential for increasing self-awareness, authentic self expression, and deeper connections with others. It would be a great honor to work with you in taking the steps in reaching your personal goals. Together we will identify areas where change is needed, look at challenges from a fresh perspective for new insights and potential solutions, and develop strategies for creating a more fulfilling life and relationships. My primary goal is to provide you with an environment that fosters assurance, connection, greater personal health, well-being, and development.
The integrative approach I utilize in my practice, incorporates different therapeutic tools and approaches, taking into account the mental, physical, behavioral, and emotional factors that influence each individual and their own personal well-being. This approach is very flexible and inclusive, creating positive outcomes by emphasizing the individual's variety of needs and the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. It would be an honor to help you maximize your potential and support you along your journey.

Hi. My name is Kristi Rooney. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has been providing mental health services in both Washington State and Montana since 2007. My experience include inpatient drug treatment for adolescent girls, males sentenced with the Department of Corrections, and community based patients suffering with chronic pain. I've directly provided, as well as, supervised various wrap around community based services, including behavioral interventions to students in the school setting for ten years. I started Headframe Integrative Counseling in March 2021, with the strong desire to expand my own personal strengths and vision for the services I provide, the impact and contribution upon the community I love so much.
When humans experience trauma or severe life stressors, it commonly affects everyone differently. The impact of trauma can be subtle, insidious, or outright destructive. It is my passion to offer a safe, healing space for people who have been through various traumatic/stressful experiences. I help clients, who include children, adults, and families, grow and heal through traumatic experiences; developing self-worth and strengthening their relationships.
No single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I have been trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Advanced Trauma Treatment for Children & Adolescents. I utilize an Integrative therapeutic approach, using techniques and tools from different evidence based treatment modalities to tailor an individualized approach for each client.
My educational background includes a Masters of Social Work from the University of Montana in Missoula. I have a B.S. in Sociology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
At Headframe Integrative Counseling you will be provided a safe and confidential environment to explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through distressing memories or life events, develop skills and identify strategies to address and resolve problems creating emotional turmoil. Through the use of a collaborative approach to therapy, you will participate in conversations and activities that open up possibilities and ideas. By sharing your experiences, hopes, and intentions in a therapeutic relationship, you engage in the collaborative effort to create new understandings and meanings to difficult experiences. These exchanges are often the catalyst for personal growth by helping you embrace yourself more fully and discovering the motivation to create real, lasting, positive change in your life.
At the pace most of us live our lives, just the thought of adding an hour of therapy to the "To Do List" may be exhausting. And it's true, healing and growth are work and may be difficult at times, but the rewards are endless. You deserve to live life with passion, purpose, and meaning no matter what stage of life you're in. If you don't take steps towards change, things stay the same and could even get worse. By prioritizing your emotional, mental health and wellbeing, reaching out for support, you are giving yourself the opportunity for new perspectives to evolve that help you take the next steps forward and foster hope.
My experience as a therapist enables me to offer effective outpatient psychological care to children, adolescents, and adults. I treat a number of mental health disorders with an individualized and integrative approach, providing a neutral safe space for individuals, families, and couples who are ready to maximize their potential.
My focus has been on helping individuals and families better understand themselves and each other, recognizing their strengths and discovering ways to utilize them. This is achieved by listening to your concerns and customizing a treatment plan that you are invested in.
It's hard to reach out and get started with a therapist. In fact, It can be terrifying. I promise to do everything I can to help make your next steps as easy as possible. I'm glad you are here, and I want you to know that things can start getting better today.
